                                   I started DBMI because I recognized that while the "Big Guys" have all the
                                   powerful analytic tools and the budgets to use them in endless ways, there
                                   remains a tremendous need for the small business to be more efficient in
                                   their marketing.  Database marketing is an effective way to accomplish this.
 
Despite a degree in Sociology, I have been in marketing my entire career which some may view as a strange fit. I disagree. Sociology gives you a perspective that good marketing needs because while commerce drives the engine, marketing is really about communicating with people. If we don't understand our audience, how can we effectively communicate with them? Your data can unlock this understanding if you have the capabilities to extract it and the insight to known what it means.   
 
I have spent more than 15 years in ad agencies, working with franchises, multi-unit retail and trade schools. During that time I have managed and conducted media planning & buying, cross promotion & collateral development, research, account planning, sales & promotion tracking, targeted marketing programs and strategic marketing plans - whew.  Despite my background in advertising, my passion lies in analytics and implementation. Think of DBMI as an engaged, outside analyst -not to be considered a threat to your advertising agency - although I'm comfortable give you an honest evaluation of their efforts.

Unfortunately, capabilities can't demonstrate the passion and enthusiasm about helping  the small business person get that "aha" moment.  Yeah, I love that.
